Capturing a unique musical performance is our primary objective thanks to a mix of modern and vintage material in a recording environment dedicated to sound research. Our experienced team is at the service of the artist. Our philosophy is authenticity, and our work is to create the best conditions for musical creation. As every project is unique, we consider all demands, and have flexible rates available. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
We reply to all requests : recording, mix, producing, coaching, arrangments and song writing. In addition to our team of experienced producers and sound engineers, we have a network of professional musicians, arrangers, producers, backliners, etc.
The recording studio
4A Sound Factory studio is located in a reconverted barn in the middle of the « la Folie du Bois des Fontaines » park, an old and magnificent Normande house. Literally next to the studio is the artist residence, with 3 bedrooms (a total of 6 beds), a living-room with 2 double couches, kitchen, WC and bathroom. We also have access to all « Domaine de Forges » (4 stars hotel, 3 stars hotel) accommodations, restauration and swimming pool. All budgets are negociable.
Regarding the studio we have two recording rooms, one dedicated to drums, guitars, bass, and one keyboard room with Steinway piano, Hammond B3 and vintage keyboards. Also, a small vocal booth is available, plus two separate rooms where we can record guitar amps.
We have a fully equipped control room based around a 64 channels SSL E series console, and we work with Mac and ProTools HDX with quality converters (Avid et Cranesong). Our principal monitors are Barefoot and Genelec (Also available Adam, NS10, HD1). We have modern and vintage compressors, equalizers, preamps, reverbs, delays, multi-effects, microphones. We have a STUDER 2track A80 – 1/2 Pouce 15/30 ips allowing to mix to tape for the authentic analog mix sound.
We also have a large choice of guitar and bass amps, keyboards and piano, vintage guitars and basses, and a DW drum kit « handmade » + hardware.
